Better Access to Mental Health
One of the ways that clients are able to access medicare funding for Occupational Therapy services, is through the Better Access to Mental Health funding. This funding is part of the Better Access to Mental Health Initiative.
Key Points about this funding are:
- Access to the funding can be provided by referral from a GP, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician and is allocated at their discretion.
The referral will be to your therapist at Grow On Children’s Occupational Therapy and often comes in the form of a letter.

|80135||A Medicare rebate is available for up to 10 individual visits in a calendar year however each referral can only include up to 6 visits.||$87.95||$74.80|
|80145||A Medicare rebate is also available for up to 10 group sessions in a calendar year however each referral can only include up to 6 sessions.||$22.35||$19|
As per Medicare guidelines we will report back to the referring professional. The report will include information about
- any treatment provided
- recommendations on future management of the condition or problem
- any advice provided to third parties (e.g. parents, schools).
